The sport of mushing is unique in it’s own right, with a variety of dog breeds, equipment, personalities, and events for every type of team. Here’s your chance to become part of that! By sponsoring your athlete, each season they will receive a new harness for training and racing, neck lines and tug lines, booties, and a bag of high protein dog food to recover from hard training sessions and races. Each athlete has their own unique personality, just like us so choose one that fits best for you!
The cost of sponsoring an athlete is $125 per season. In exchange, we will send you an 8X10 picture of your choice from our gallery along with an email about races and results, training, and dog life in general. Your name or business will also be listed along with your dog on the website.

Toivo – 4 y/o Endurance Leader

Breed: Alaskan Husky
Personality: Toivo is one of two dogs that lives in the house, he has since he was a puppy to keep Helena occupied. He likes to go for hikes, runs, and swimming off leash. He’s very friendly and isn’t afraid to ask you for affection. His favorite toys are tennis balls and sticks, but you have to find the stick first. Toivo is a good pace setter for long runs up to 40 miles once we are on snow and helps younger dogs with commands and is the largest dog in the kennel. He tries to be tough, but hook him up to a chain and his real personality comes out, he’s a big softie. Toivo came from Ward & Colleen Wallin in Two Harbors.
Valor – 3 y/o Sprint Leader

Personality: Valor is the hardest and fastest working dog we have, hands down. He pulls so hard when we stop he just lays down, completely blown out. When we are hooking the team up for a run, he screams pretty loud and jumps up and down about three feet in the air. Valor is a big sweetheart, he wiggles around and bounces up and down like a rabbit when you go out the yard to see him. He has a really short coat and comes in the house on really cold nights. Valor comes from Eddy Streeper via Mark and Mary Black in Hovland, MN.
Magnus – 3 y/o Sprint & Endurance Leader

Breed: Alaskan Husky
Personality: Magnus’ nick name is “Moose”, because he’s a big strong dog that is hard to handle while getting into his dog box and hooking up to the gangline. Toivo and Magnus are almost the same size, but completely different dogs. He likes to lick you when you pet and feed him, and he’s not afraid of anyone. He’s really fast when he needs to be, but is easily distracted on the trail and screams just before we take off firing up the team. He will run lead but is more useful for us back in wheel because of his size. Magnus comes from Bark River Racing in Herbster, WI. He was on their 2009 winning team during the White Oak Classic Sled Dog Race.
Seppo – 2 y/o Sprint Leader

Personality: Seppo is extremely shy but is getting better. He is the 2nd fastest & strongest dog in the kennel and absolutely loves to work for you. No matter how slow, fast, or far we run he’s 100% into it. He doesn’t get along with Valor very well, so we can’t run them together in lead. Seppo has tremendous drive and potential, he’s going to be a champion some day! He’s filled out nice and gained some weight since this picture was taken last September. Seppo comes to us from Bark River Racing in Herbster, WI via the Streeper Auction.

Personality: Jaana is a sweetheart, always wanting to be with you and please you. She started running lead with Valor at 11 months old and hasn’t looked back since. We believe she may be the future of the kennel as a leader and a brood bitch. Her favorite friend to play with is her brother Ari, you can’t take one without taking the other! Jaana has a very athletic physique, good attitude, and is very fast! She also enjoys going for car rides, swimming, and fetching the tennis ball. Jaana comes to us from Windigo Outfitters in Iron River, WI.

Personality: Ari is our vision of the “perfect” dog for our kennel with outstanding drive to run and team motivation. When you get dogs out of the yard he is barking. When he is drop lined to the truck, he is barking. When you hook him up, he is barking. And guess what…when you take off for the first 100 yards, he is barking! Ari has a great personality and loves people and other dogs. He enjoys swimming with Toivo and being scratched and groans when you do so. Just recently, he started to beat his sister in speed bursts during free running. Like Jaana his litter mate, he is very athletic, has a good attitude, and has tremendous potential. I hate to say it, but he is slowly becoming one of my favorite dogs besides Toivo. Ari comes to us from Windigo Outfitters in Iron River, WI.
