Deb & Steve came out to see how the dogs’ new blaze orange harnesses were fitting. Sorry for all the wheel dog action, I forgot to bring my sunglasses so I was getting pelted with sand in the eyes and had to look down. Our run was a non-stop pace run, 3.54 miles avg spd 15.4 mph with 210 feet of climbing, ouch! This video was taken during a short rest break within the last mile of a training run. Look how happy these dogs are, everyone has wagging tails! They even have enough energy to drag the four wheeler! We’ve had six hook ups to the wheeler so far, all have gone pretty good considering they haven’t been hooked up for four months. We did some free running when we could, depending on temps that the dogs can tolerate. Swimming is always part of summer training and letting the dogs be dogs!
Dryland racing season is coming up soon, with our first event in Clearwater, MN. The East Meets West Dryland Championships will be held on Halloween weekend, Oct. 30 & 31. After that we are heading to the dirty dog the weekend after in Antigo, WI. There’s also a possibility of racing in Canada at the end of Nov., but we will see where the team is at. |
